Material
Cariuma shoes are made from organic cotton canvas, natural rubber, and cork sourced from responsibly managed resources. They are also unique in their circularity – once worn out, the shoes can be recycled or composted.
Production
The production of Cariuma shoes is based on the principles of transparency and ethics. It takes place in certified factories where employees receive fair wages and work in safe conditions. Cariuma minimizes waste, recycles water, and uses renewable energy.
Supply chain knowledge
The brand is working on increasing transparency and gaining a deeper understanding of the entire supply chain, aiming to reach phase 3 and 2 by 2027.
The brand knows its suppliers only for level 1 - therefore it does not know the suppliers of raw materials or processed materials.
Production radius
The complete production chain has a shorter path than 10 000 km.
CSR
Cariuma takes social responsibility seriously. For every pair of shoes sold, the brand plants two trees in the Brazilian rainforest, actively fighting deforestation. It supports local communities, invests in sustainability education, and collaborates only with suppliers who follow ethical standards. It’s not just about stylish shoes – it’s about making a positive impact on the world.
