In August Company was founded in 2017 by illustrator Karolína and photographer Teodorik, and their Prague brand returns the word handmade to its original meaning: hands. The ceramics are made locally in limited runs, so the entire process from clay to glaze is traceable and no two pieces are exactly alike. The painted faces on mugs and pots differ piece by piece; a small deviation of the line is not a flaw but the signature of the particular moment when brush met glaze.The ceramics have meanwhile found buyers in Japan, London and America.
