Collection: Women's Service Works

Tom Chudley grew up in the family hospitality business and spent much of his life in professional kitchens. Over time he noticed a simple thing: he kept wearing his chef trousers after the shift. Skating, around town, basically all the time. A relaxed cut, elasticated waist and a resilience that fashion-studio patterns don’t offer, because nobody tests them twelve hours a day next to a blazing stove. But classic professional trousers had a catch: they were sewn either from thin, practically disposable fabrics or from heavy traditional cotton that was stifling in a kitchen. In 2020, Tom therefore founded Service Works in London and did what nobody had thought of for a long time: he took the cut proven by generations of chefs and gave it the material it deserves. The brand’s foundation is GOTS-certified organic cotton; in the classic chef pants at an honest weight of 360 grams per metre — heavier and tougher than the usual standard. Production runs with partners who insist on fair conditions for the people at the machines. The motto reads designed for chefs, adapted for all. And that is exactly how it works. Trousers born for the toughest working environment in hospitality are now worn by skateboarders, creatives and people who simply want comfortable, indestructible trousers. Workwear that isn’t a costume, because it has a genuine origin. And you can feel it in every seam.
