Collection: On Autumn Salection %

On was founded in Zurich by Olivier Bernhard, multiple duathlon world champion, together with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. Legend has it that the first cushioning prototype was made by cutting up a garden hose and sticking pieces onto a sole. The experiment became the patented CloudTec system: hollow chambers that compress on landing and return energy on push-off — soft landing, hard take-off. The shoe therefore looks different from everything else on the market, which proved a double win: it gave runners a new feeling and the city a new visual code. On grew from a Swiss start-up into a global running brand; Roger Federer appeared among the investors and is involved in developing his own tennis line, and shoes from the Zurich laboratory are now encountered at marathons and in offices alike. The essence, however, remains engineering: every model starts with the question of how the footstrike should work, not how the shoe should look. Swiss precision applied to running. And the rare case where technology created the aesthetic, not the other way round.
